Alfred Street by Studio Four

Happy Saturday everyone. Whilst everyone else in the UK is basking in lovely hot summer weather, Scotland woke up this morning to a damp, miserable rainy day. I have spent the day browsing pinterest and reading some online magazines with a continuous stream of coffee and home made brownies on the go. I came across a house tour on Est Magazines website, an Australian online magazine that I first subscribed to over a year ago. I just had to share it with you! It is by far, the most beautiful house I have ever seen. I have a bit of a thing for natural wood and clean, bright spaces.

The home itself is on Albert Street, Melbourne and was designed by Studio Four.

The house has been cleverly transformed by Studio Four into a light, innovative home. With attention to detail throughout, each room is perfectly formed thanks to the very subtle changes in ceiling heights and a combination of newly built forms. A second floor was added to the existing structure and the relationship between indoor and outdoor was strengthened with the addition of hidden sliding doors which welcome the outside in. A rear courtyard flows from the kitchen allowing for outdoor entertaining, extending the connection between indoors and outside.

A soft and understated neutral palate of white and grey compliments the use of pale oak fixtures and fittings and flooring throughout, while large expanses of windows effectively allow the garden to add life to the interior scheme.

When can I move in!?
